Central Indiana Dance Ensemble’s opens 12th annual Nutcracker with a breathtaking performanceon 9 December 2011
From the moment that Central Indiana Dance Ensemble opened the curtains on its 12th annual Nutcracker Ballet at Zionsville’s Performing Arts Center; the beauty was in the details. From the curls in the party girls’ hair, to the snow falling from the sky, and the gems sparkling on the tutus, not a detail was missed. The choreography was fresh, the costumes were stunning, and the dancing was spectacular. The production rose to an even higher level this year with all new choreography in Act One. The audience felt as if they were at Christmas Eve with Clara and her family. They followed Clara on her journey with her Nutcracker Prince through a battle, the snow, and of course, a celebration in the land of sweets. Suzann DeLay, Artistic Director for Central Indiana Dance Ensemble, is known for her attention to detail and quality productions and tonight was no different. One attendee commented, “We come every year and it gets better and better but this year is at a whole new level. Suzann and her organization have outdone themselves.” It appears that others agree, as the show opened with record sales. Tickets are still available for the remaining three shows this weekend. The show times are Saturday, December 10th at 2pm and 7:30pm, and Sunday, December 11th at 2pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children up to 18 years. Tickets can be purchased online at cidedance.org or by calling 317-844-7453.
